Today a great injustice and heartbreaking event has occured... beloved ITV drama Whitechapel has been cancelled.
Rupert Penry-Jones took to twitter to break the hearts of the people by writing "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone but ITV don’t want any more Whitechapel. That’s all folks x"
Some did accuse him of joking but he said "No not joking I am afraid...For those who are sad about the end of Whitechapel you can always let @ITV know'
Starting in 2009, Whitechapel followed DI Chandler a fast track police officer who works along side his team to solve murders that often relate to history. The fourth series of this show aired earlier this year with a darker and more menacing tone than before. It seems the figures did not add up and this amazing show has been cancelled because of it.
