So this one was created by Ariel Bissett. Watch the video here. The rules are pretty simple. Ariel has given some scenarios where we can sacrifice the books that we didn't like or didn't get.
Whole point of the tag is to share an opinion. Do not think I am attacking your taste in books if you like any of the below. It is just some fun.
Scenario 1: An Over-Hyped book - you are in a book store looking for you latest read when suddenly a Zombie Apocalypse starts! Luckily for you and the other people in the store there is an announcement saying that the
military has discovered that the zombies' only weakness is over-hyped
books. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you really hated
do you start chucking at the zombies knowing that it will count as an
over-hyped book and successfully wipe them out?
The House of Night series by PC Cast! Any and all of them would work. I read 5 1/2 of these books. Didn't even finish 6! I am pretty sure they are the reason that I stopped reading for ages. I liked the first one but then she wrote more and the plot, characters and general story became a pile of sh*t and I don't get why she kept going! I hated them and the character's. One of the few times I wanted to kill the main character. Know it is an old series but COME ON! Enough already PC... just enough!
Scenario 2:A Sequel - Let's say you've just left the salon with a SMASHING new haircut and BOOM: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?
Probably have to go with another old one. New Moon. Talk about a let down. I am out of my Twilight loving phase but I still enjoyed the series. This sequel did not satisfy me though and Bella became to whiny (we all know I hate that) and there was no need for the entire book really. Definitely pick my hair over this book.
Scenario 3: A Classic - Let's say you're in a
lecture and your English teacher is going on and on about how this
classic changed the world, how it revolutionised literature and you get
so sick of it that you chuck the classic right at his face because you
know what? This classic is stupid and it's worth detention just to show
everyone how you feel! What Classic did you chuck?
Emma by Jane Austen. I adore Jane Austen but NOTHING HAPPENS! You wander around a village and meet a couple pointless people. There is a lot of dancing and close calls on the love interests but not really very interesting. Loads of people think it is amazing but it just makes me fall asleep. It isn't until the last, like, 5 pages where things get interesting. Did not understand the love the people of this world hold for this book.
Scenario 4: Your least
favourite book of life! - Let's say that you're hanging out at the
library when BAM global warming explodes and the world outside becomes a
frozen wasteland. You're trapped and your only chance for survival is
to burn a book. What is the book you first run to, your least favourite
book of all life, what book do you not fully regret lighting?
Losing It by Cora Carmack. Probably the worst book I have ever read. Bit awkward since my friend loved it and insists it's good. maybe I missed something.. or maybe she is suffering from delusions because this book has no redeeming qualities. The only good thing is Cade and he has a book of his own which I will have to read at some point but just kill Bliss Edwards!
Wow that tag ignited a fury in me whilst writing as I revisited all the annoying, frustrating and down right wrong books in this world. Let me know your thought.
