So since we are heading into the last month or so of summer I thought I
would compile a list of some quick, fun summer series (and a few
honourable mentions) that are perfect to fly through before it is back
to school.
1. The Geek Girl series by Holly Smale - Filled with glamour, comedy, and some romance this series is a fly through. Each of these books can be read within a day making it easy to get that book count up on Goodreads.
2. The Heart series by Keris Stainton - Each book is a different place with a different person but they all tie together. Quick, fun reads that have a huge font and some charming characters. The mood of Emma in book 2 might get you a bit annoyed but stick with it. These are perfect for the pool.
3. Bridget Jones's Diary trilogy - Though I loathed the final installment, the first two are little gems. Follow fun, yet unfortunate, Bridget through her antics of a single woman in early 2000s London. Diary entry format that makes them a speed read you will not want to put down.
3. Bridget Jones's Diary trilogy - Though I loathed the final installment, the first two are little gems. Follow fun, yet unfortunate, Bridget through her antics of a single woman in early 2000s London. Diary entry format that makes them a speed read you will not want to put down.
4. The Heist Society series by Ally Carter - Far superior to her Gallagher Girls spy series, the Heist Society is for those who want a bit more suspense and action in their summer reads. Kat and her team are the perfect bickering group of high end thieves that will make you feel like a jewel thief as you sip on lemonade in your garden.
5. Burn for Burn trilogy by
Jenny Han and
Siobhan Vivian - A contemporary series that focuses more on revenge than getting the guy. High stake game played by 3 totally different characters and written by 2 epic authors. Another book you can read in one sitting by the pool (as I did) that will leave you wanting more right away.
6. The Rosie Project duology by Graeme Simsion - Fantastic series that is a little more adult, yet no less charming. Original characters and writing style that have got it some great reviews, including from me. May take a little while to get into but once you do it will be a book you inhale practically.
Honourable Mentions - Stand alone books that I loved and feel are perfect for summer.
Josie Griffin is Not a Vampire by Heather Swain, Something Maybe by Elizabeth Scott, Me, Earl & the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews, and Saving Juliet by Suzanne Selfors,
